De 1947 à 1954, le corps expéditionnaire français en Indochine n'a pas les effectifs suffisants pour l'accomplissement de ses missions. Les autorités françaises doivent faire appel à de nombreux soldats des colonies, parmi eux environ 60 000 Marocains recrutés facilement. Ils acquièrent une réputation de combattants solides et loyaux. En dépit de la guerre, ils sont contents de leur vie en Indochine et ne posent aucun problème jusqu'en 1950. Après, l'arrivée de plus jeunes soldats, les revers français, les propagandes et la détérioration de la situation au Maroc troublent parfois ces hommes. Mais cela ne crée pas de graves problèmes ni dans les unités ni à leur retour au Maroc |

From 1947 to 1954, the French expeditionary forces in Indochina were never sufficient to carry out their mission. The French authorities were obliged to call up a large number of soldiers from the colonies, among them approximately 60 000 Moroccans who were easily recruited. They gained a reputation as loyal and disciplined fighters. In spite of the war, they were satisfied with their lives and posed no problems until 1950. Then, the arrival of younger soldiers, the French reverses in Indochina, together with propaganda and the deteriorating situation in Morocco, in various cases altered their viewpoints. This did not, however, raise any serious problems, either in their units or on their return to Morocco |
