L'oasis de Chott Sidi Abdel Salam est l'unique oasis littorale de la méditerranée et l'un des derniers exemples d'oasis dans le monde. Il s'agit d'une une ancienne oasis traditionnelle qui doit son existence à trois ressources naturelles et patrimoniales. Aussi, l'oasis constitue un refuge pour une faune riche en petits mammifères, reptiles, mollusques, insectes, etc...., et pour une faune associée, peu encore connue, composée essentiellement des oiseaux migrateurs et hivernants d'intérêt international. |
