To narrow the scope of my paper, I have chosen to use a case of corruption that involved Royal Air Maroc and Baysys in 2011. This paper will study the consequences of foreign investment of Baysys on Royal Air Maroc, the internal as well as the external factors that affected that relation between those two companies, the role of the political system in corruption, the role of the international agreements and laws against corruption, the international competition especially from China, and the cultural difference between Western and Eastern countries. As a general background, this research is going to use the "Grabbing Hand" theory of corruption as the main theory of this paper. Shleifer and Vishny believe that politicians "do not maximize social welfare and instead pursue their own selfish objectives" (Shleifer and Vishny 1998: 4). This theory states that foreign investors and local public officials are self-interested. Accordingly, many foreign companies tend to invest in countries where corruption levels are high when other variables are present. This theory also focuses more on the role of politics in corruption, which makes it better theory for my paper than the "Helping hand" or the "Invisible Hand of Corruption" theories
