In addition, it examined the prerequisites for the establishment of an independent print media system that could promote a democratic process in the country. This qualitative study was based on data gathered through the analysis of in-depth email and phone interviews with a number of key media and political elites in Libya, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The primary documents and global and regional data were derived from international organizations indexes. The findings indicate that, despite the challenges faced by the Libyan media, there are independent newspapers and magazines in the country. However, according to the political, social and economic context of transitions in Libya at the moment, Libya, at this time, lacks the prerequisites for building an independent print media system UR - http://www.fondation.org.ma/dsp/index/a725972-19 ER -
